António Soares

“Drawing was always his passion. But almost as a hobby and not taking it seriously. António Soares could have gone into medical school, but ended up, almost by elimination, with a Painting degree from Faculdade de Belas Artes do Porto. And just as well. He started by teaching, short Drawing and Illustration training courses in ateliers in Porto. Then it was fashion school Citex, now Modatex, where he trained some of the young talents in Fashion Design in Portugal.

Fashion, however, fashion illustration by António Soares is a very recent thing in his life. Only a few years ago did the boys and girls António drew as a child start wearing top national and international designer’s clothes and footwear. The very personal relationship with his drawings means that he always starts with a portrait, with the faces,  women’s or men’s, of those that will embody the piece that he has at hand. This process guarantees the a unique, tailored result that sets António Soares apart. From Porto to the world, he works with clients such as
